Week 29: More Miracles

February 27, 2012

Well dang this week has been fun! We had Zone Conference, interviews, exchanges and a lot of miracles and fun times! It has been a busy week but that is way nice.

Zone Conference was super spiritual. Since we do interviews and zone conference every transfer now, we have a short conference and long interviews one transfer and flipflopped for the next. This transfer we had the short conference and it was just great. I got to conduct and that was super fun. It focused on teaching safeguards for technology for the mission and when we get home. We also had a Bishop/psychologist speak to us for some motivation is the work of salvation. We then had a testimony meeting and the spirit was strong. I just zone my zone so dang much!

Interviews went super well! President Rehm is a huge source of knowledge that i haven't been taking advantage of so this time I came with like 10 questions about doctrine that I had questions about and he really helped me to understand a bit more. President Rehm is just awesome!

On Friday we started exchanges. Elder Kinney who is serving in Rye, came up to Pueblo and I got to be with him for the day. He is such an awesome missionary and it was an awesome day with him! he is from Utah and has been out for about 5 months now.

It was also way fun this week meeting some more of the members. Sister Towns is this Older lady who feeds us lunch every week now. she is so funny and is like the stereotypical Grandma, can't hear too well and feeds us so much. I think it's actually impossible to say no when she tells you to get more haha. Another awesome member is Brother Stewart, he is an awesome guy that we are trying to get to the temple. he sometimes has his friend Barney over and they are so crazy, they have known each other for like 50 years and tell us about all the crazy stuff they did as kids. They are a crack up.

We also saw some great miracles this week! One investigator we are working with has the coolest story ever. He was in prison for a while and one of the fellow inmates there taught him the gospel in prison. he has been studying for about 7 years and doesn't really even need the missionaries because he knows it all! So he just got 1st presidency approval this week to be baptized on the 10th of March! So excited for him.

Also during 2nd hour of church we were pulled out of class to talk to this part member family. The husband is a member and  hasn't been to church in a while because of health and his wife isn't a member. Anyways, the wife pretty much said she has been talking to missionaries for a while and has been coming to church and is ready to be baptized! So dang cool!

Anyways, it was a great week for me and I hope it was for you all as well!
Love,
Elder Morgan

Week 28: New Area - New Companion

February 20, 2017

Well this week has been so great! I feel so blessed to get to serve in such awesome areas. The and Mesa wards are fantastic and I am so excited to be serving here.

I met my new companion, Elder Garton and came down here to Pueblo on Tuesday and have been having a blast since. Elder Garton and I get along really well and I am glad to be his companion. He is super obedient and hard working and a funny guy. He is from San Diego and has been on his mission for 8 months. It is going to be a great transfer with him.

Serving in the Pueblo and Mesa Wards has been really fun. I heard a lot about how I would be serving in a bit of a ghetto area but so far it has been really nice and the people here are great. We definitely have the coolest service opportunities as well. We serve in the Pueblo Zoo, the Parks and Rec and in a cooking class for old people so that is way good. The members in the wards also love the missionaries and feed us a lot so I will probably get chubby here but that is alright.

We are teaching some wonderful people here, we have a big teaching pool so we are real busy. One families in the ward has a bunch of foster kids and one of them, Landon, is so prepared. He comes to church every week and knows the gospel really well. He is just trying to get his grades up so that his parents will allow him to be baptized.

One miracle we have seen this week was that last night we got a call from a member in the ward, saying she had 2 investigator families that want to take the missionary discussions. So cool! I think we are going to see a lot of miracles this transfer and I am just excited to be serving here.

Well I hope everyone is doing well and having a lot of fun!
Love,

Week 27: 6 Months!

February 13, 2017

Wow I have hit 6 months and it seems like I have only been out for 1! But this week was way sad because I'm getting transferred!!! I was so bummed when I got the call, I am going to miss Canon City so much! This has been an awesome last week though.

So I am being transferred to the Pueblo Stake and will be serving in the Pueblo and Mesa wards. My companion will be Elder Garton and I am super excited to meet him! He sounds like an awesome missionary and I'm sure I will be able to learn a lot. One thing I am pretty happy about is that there is a Ross in my new area! I also have the opportunity to serve as zone leader in the Pueblo Zone for the next 6 months so that will be a wonderful learning experience! But I will go down tomorrow to Pueblo, I'm excited!

This week we were able to go on exchanges a couple times. The first time, on Tuesday, Elder Faletau went with Elder Zaugg and I to 1st ward and it was a great exchange. Elder Faletau is a great missionary and I learned a lot from being able to serve with him. Then on Saturday I went with Elder McFarlane to Canon City 2nd ward and that was a great day! I was able to help him find some of the people that fell through the cracks since I had served there and we were able to do a lot of finding. I love tracting, especially when it is with an awesome missionary like Elder McFarlane.

Other than that I would say the highlight of the week was saying goodbye to the people in this area. I think I will miss Sister Firedancer most, she is like my adopted Grandma is this area and is super Native American, pretty cool. But the I don't know if I will get to serve in a ward where the members are as great as they are here, I will miss it!

Anyways I hope everyone is doing well!

Week 26: A special exchange

February 6, 2017

Well this has been a bit of a slower week because Elder Coverley was sick for almost all the week but it was still uplifting! We were able to go to interviews and Zone training which were both awesome! Other than that we just had a lot of time for studies and board games.

At Zone training we learned about helping investigators make and keep commitments. Our zone is super cool and it is so nice being able to serve with such great examples. Interviews also went really well, Sister Rehm keeps telling me I'm going to be transferred this next time so I'm excited and a little sad to leave. President Rehm is just awesome though and is a fantastic Mission President!

The highlight of the week for me was probably being able to go out for a couple hours with a member in the ward that is preparing to serve a mission. He has autism and is doing a trial mission in the Denver South mission for 3 months. It was super cool because we were going to a recent convert's house but on the way I felt prompted to go to an investigators house. When we got there it turned out that she was sick and they were leaving the next day to go on a trip they had been planning for months so we were able to give her a blessing of healing. It was awesome because it was the member's first blessing that he was able to participate in and it was a learning and spiritual experience for all of us.

Well I hope everyone has a great week, I love you!

Week 105: The Final Email

August 13, 2018 Well looks like this is it! I will be home on Thursday and still can't believe it! It had been such a great experience...
