Week 45: Freija's Baptism!

June 19, 2017

Another great week! I also found out that Elder Nelson and I will be staying here for one more transfer. The work is going really well in this area. I feel like I am really improving in working with members and that is leading to a lot of good things happening here! The highlight of the week was Freija getting baptized!

So we started out the week with exchanges with Antonito/Fox Creek. I went to their area with Elder Douglas. Elder Douglas and I came out together so that was really fun! We taught one of the most prepared people ever while I was there! His name was Rob and they have been teaching him for about a week and already has a rock solid testimony! He talks a lot so we were there for like 2 hours but it was an awesome lesson. He will be coming to church this week and I think he is definitely going to get baptized soon! Antonito is pretty cool, really small! It is in Manassa CO and there are so many mosquitoes there!

It was so cool this week because an investigator that we have been trying to get into contact with for a while was at church! There is a member that he is dating so we are excited to start teaching him. Then another investigator that we have been trying to meet with was at church as well. Then this morning a lady called us and told us that she had a friend who wanted to take the missionary discussions! The Lord is giving us lots of people to teach!

On Saturday was Freija's baptism! It went so well! She was a little embarrassed that she was being baptized after 8 so she didn't want many people there. There were only like 12 people there, it was nice though to have a smaller baptism! Our Bishop baptized and confirmed her and it was just a wonderful experience. So happy for her!

Freijas Baptism!

It was an awesome week though and I am glad to be serving here! Being a missionary is awesome! We will be getting a lot of new people in the zone this week from transfers as well, so that is exciting! Anyways, I know this is the work of Jesus Christ. I love you all!

Week 44: Last Training with Mission President and Alligators

June 12, 2017

This week was great! We were in Colorado Springs for 3 days for MLC and exchanges with the Assistants to the President. We also saw some big time miracle this week!

So MLC was awesome! I love seeing a bunch of awesome missionaries and some of my closest mission friends! it was President Rehm's last MLC so that was a bummer. I will miss President Rehm a lot, we get our new mission President on June 28th

We did exchanges with the AP's the day after MLC and it went really well. We all stayed up in Springs and worked in their area. It was so cool because we found a ton of prepared people for them to teach! The drive to Springs is almost 3.5 hours so that was pretty nice to have a long car ride as well.

It was so awesome because last preparation day we went to an alligator farm here! They have a ton of reptiles there and a lot of alligators! Definitely one of the most fun pdays I have had here. I got to hold a baby alligator!

Bigger Alligators

And even bigger alligators!

And, snakes...

And finally tortoises!

Then the coolest miracle happened here ever! On Sunday one of the people we have been working with came up to us in church and told us she had decided to be baptized and she wants to do it this Saturday! It will be a great end to the transfer. Her name is Fraija (I think that is how you spell it) and she is 12 years old. She is living with her awesome grandma and has had a really hard life. Her sister keeps running away and is not too interested in the gospel but I am so happy for Fraija!

This has been a great week though and I am glad I get to serve here. My testimony of Jesus Christ has been strengthened so much and I love telling people about him. Anyways hope everyone is doing so well and having fun! Love you all!

Week 43: Trenda, Zone Conference, and Youth Conference

June 5, 2017

This week was so great! We were able to stay real busy and have a lot of fun inviting others to come unto Christ. We had a Zone Conference and youth Conference and more good stuff everyday. This week also went by so fast, time is flying by!

So we had a great start to the week by finding Trenda! we were out tracting for a little bit and literally not one person answered their door! So we were coming in for lunch and trenda was out with her cats for a bit so we started talking to her and she is awesome! She has already read the Book of Mormon and agreed to talk more about what we believe! It is really nice because she lives real close to us so we can make daily contact and drop of lots of inspiring videos and scriptures to her! but i am pretty sure she is going to be baptized and be a super awesome member of the Church!

Then we did exchanges with the Elders serving in Del Norte. Del Norte is a real small town where not much happens, cool town though. Elder Madsen came with me to Alamosa and we had a great day! most of our appointments fell through, actually all of them but we still had a great day! We found a lot of people to teach and Elder Madsen is awesome! He was in my district when I first came out so it was good to serve with him again.

Then the next day we drove down to Pueblo for Zone Conference! it is a 2 and a half hour drive and is so pretty! It was so nice to be in Pueblo again and see my old zone, super happy day. Zone Conference was very uplifting. President and Sister Rehm talked to us about building our foundation upon Christ. We were then able to do some training for our zone and we trained on the Spirit and recognizing promptings, it went really well.

The other highlight was being able to help at a youth conference. we were running an escape room. it is pretty much this room where they are locked in and they have to solve all these puzzles things and get he code for the door to get out. It was fun.

It was a great week and I felt closer to my Savior. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ so much and know that He is the way to happiness.

Week 105: The Final Email

August 13, 2018 Well looks like this is it! I will be home on Thursday and still can't believe it! It had been such a great experience...
