Week 77: Cool stuff happening in Falcon Ward!

January 29, 2018

This week was so awesome! We saw a lot of miracles and had a lot of fun with everything. There is just a bunch of cool stuff happening in the Falcon ward!

So to start we had a lesson with Hope and she is doing so well! She is excited about the gospel and said she would be baptized on the 24th of February. She is a great lady and has some crazy kids! We always hear them screaming in the mornings haha.

One cool thing that happened this week was at the library where we do service a lady walks up to us and asks if we are Mormon. So we tell her yes, and she says that she is looking for a foundation and a church family and wants to learn about the church and what we believe! So we set up a lesson and it goes really well and she comes to church the next day! She said she really felt at home there and is so excited about everything. Super cool to see how the Lord prepares people for the gospel.

Then on Saturday we were finishing up our weekly planning and a guy just walks into the church and says that he was going through a religious awakening. He said he was lead here and we started teaching him and he was super excited about the gospel of Christ as well! The lord is definitely preparing people!

We also had a zone conference this week that was great! President Stevenson talked about flooding the mission with the Book of Mormon and it was a great conference, I learned a lot.

On Sunday we had 6 people we are teaching at church! It was great to see them all their.

Other than that we are just having lots of fun! Things are going really well and my companions and I are having fun, they are great guys! Hope everyone has a wonderful week and reads their scriptures!

Elder Morgan

Week 76: New companions - training again!

January 22, 2018

This week was great! Got my new companions and they are great! Elder McCombs and Elder Yesilonis are their names and they are fun. Elder McCombs is from Washington and has been out about 6 months and Elder Yesilonis is from Pennsylvania and has been out a week now. Elder Yesilonis is a convert of about 2.5 years and he is such a stud. Anyways not too much new happened this week, we got to knock a lot of doors and find some new people to teach so that was good. Also there was a fun snow storm last night! It only snowed about 2 inches but the wind is so crazy out here that is made the visibility real low. Church was cancelled in some other wards bordering ours. Other than that, just a fun week! Hope everyone is doing well!

Week 75: 17 Months and Training Again!

January 15, 2018

This week was awesome! It was a quick week and I can't believe the transfer has already come! Unfortunately, Elder Davis is leaving and heading off to the North Zone, and I will be staying and co-training a new missionary. So I will be in another trio and the Elder (Elder McCombs) and I will be training a new missionary. Elder McCombs has been out for about 6 months, and we are going to have a blast!

One cool thing that happened this week was teaching Mark! Mark is an inactive member that we found in our area book, and he was out of town for a while but we got a lesson set up. So we go over and turns out, he was with his son who just returned from his mission and that made him want to come back to church! He is meeting with Bishop and wants to take all the missionary discussions so that is exciting.

Other than that it was just a great week. Hope is doing well, we had an awesome lesson with her. Ryker is also doing well. His family decided to do the baptism in February so that they could get their family from out of town in. But ya life is good, not too much else happening...lots of door knocking so that is always fun.

Anyways hope everyone has a wonderful week and keeps the commandments!

Week 74: Tender Mercies - One of the best weeks of my mission!

January 8, 2018

This week was so awesome!! We had a lot of great things happen here in Falcon and the Lord blessed us with so many tender mercies. Definitely one of the best weeks of my mission.

So we had a great start to our week by finding Hope! Hope is our next door neighbor, we live in a duplex, so her door is like 10 ft away from ours and we share walls. We tried to meet her when we first got here but she wasn't home so one morning i heard her kids screaming and it reminded me that we needed to go and introduce ourselves. So we go and briefly introduce ourselves and she tells us to come back and share some of our message! We go back the next day and she is so prepared for the gospel! She is ready for a change and was excited when we were talking to her about it. So I am really excited to start teaching her.

We also had interviews this week and I love President Stevenson and his wife, they are so cool. But he told us that one of us will definitely be getting transferred so new companion and possibly new area, that's exciting!

Another cool experience we had was when we were out tracting the other day. We saw this guy jump in his car before we could go and talk to him when we had been knocking doors for maybe 30 minutes and didn't think too much of it. An hour or 2 later we see this car pull up and go over to talk them and the same guy got out of the car and started talking to us (which never happens) and tells us that he is the only nonmember in his family and that he saw us earlier and had a feeling that he needed to come and thank us so he went to the store and couldn't get the thought out of his head and after he came out of the store drove around his neighborhood until he found us. Then he started crying and thanked us for all we did and it was just awesome to have someone do that for us. He didn't want us to come over and talk with him anymore but at least some more seeds were planted!

So the best part of the week was being able to see Kyle and Ahriana Taylor! We went to a fireside last night called the work of salvation where a bunch of recent converts go and share their story up there. It was an awesome fireside and Kyle and Ahriana came to it! I got to baptize Kyle in Canon City 1st ward on Christmas Eve last year and now he has the Melchizedek Priesthood and they are going to be sealed in March, so crazy! I was so excited to see them and they are just awesome!

Kyle and Ahriana
Anyways great week and the Lord is providing for us. Hope everyone has a great week!

Week 73: New Year's Week - Happy 2018!

January 2, 2018

Happy New Year! I can't believe it is already the New Year, it came up so quick! This week was great though! We went on exchanges, found a bunch of new people to teach and got to speak in church on Sunday. Went by real fast!

So the day after Christmas we went on exchanges with our district leader and his companion and they are awesome. I went with Elder Porter and we had lots of fun. He has only been out about 5 months but was trained in one of my old areas so we had a good time talking about the people there. We had a dinner appointment and then a lesson but they both cancelled haha so we had a full day of door knocking. I love tracting though so I didn't mind at all.

On Friday after our district meeting, we did a district blitz in our area and found a bunch of new people to start teaching so that was awesome! We have a lot of success with just talking to people and going from door to door. Hopefully we will find some really solid people soon though!

On Sunday we were able to speak in church with the Ward Mission Leader and it went really well. I spoke on the Doctrine of Christ.

Other than that, things are just going really well. The past couple weeks I have been really feeling like I need to do better. There is just so much I can be doing better out here but I know that because of the Atonement of Christ my heart is changing everyday.

Anyways love you all and Happy New Year!

Week 72: Christmas Week

December 26, 2017

Well this week was awesome! It went by so quick and I can't belie Christmas is already come and gone! This week we did a good amount of door knocking, found a bunch of people and just had fun. We are finding a lot of people through door knocking but they always cancel the appointments we set up! We also found a sweet bean bag. Then the best part was getting to call the family on Christmas!

Anyways we started off last week but going to the paint mines in Calhan. It is a hike/walk to these rock formations that are really pretty and all different colors. So we did that with some of the other missionaries in our zone and that was a fun start. With our zone we also went caroling one evening and it was awesome and so cold!

Not Jonah's picture, but a realistic picture of what he saw on his hike to the Paint Mines

Ryker is still doing well and planning on being baptized on the 27th on January, so that is really exciting. His dad is from Australia and is so funny.

So about the bean bag- we were out with our district, all tracting in one of the areas and we saw this beanbag on the side of the road and all we have needed in our housing to make it perfect is a bean bag! So when we all met up again (we were carpooling in a minivan) we went and grabbed the bean bag and barely fit it in the van and drove it home. It's pretty sweet.

The Bean Bag
Christmas was fantastic! We started off by going to the Darquea's house for lunch and they are so cool. They have 3 younger kids who are crazy so we stayed over there for a while and played some ping pong and it was fun. Then we went and video chatted the family and that was so great to see them. Then we had dinner with the Bowens and sister missionaries and played some fun games. It was an awesome Christmas!

Anyways, I hope everyone back home had a wonderful Christmas and remembered the real meaning of CHRISTmas!

Week 105: The Final Email

August 13, 2018 Well looks like this is it! I will be home on Thursday and still can't believe it! It had been such a great experience...
