Week 81: Ryker's Baptism

February 26, 2018

This was a great week! Had lots of fun and good stuff that happened. Highlight of the week was Ryker getting baptized!

We started off the week not having too much to do and feeling prompted to go by a less active members house who we hadn't met yet. They were so nice and asked us to help and get their 9 year old son baptized! So we had a lesson and I love their family. Just need to get them to church now!

Ryker was baptized yesterday and it went really well! A ton of people from the ward and and Ryker's extended family came and it was a great program. Last minute they asked if I would confirm him and it was a great experience. Ryker's cousin from the Denver area baptized him.

I am also staying here in Falcon for another transfer with Elders Yesilonis and McCombs. I am excited to have another one here and hope to see lots of miracles in these 6 weeks!

Other than that, not too much is happening, we have tracted all of the suburb area of Falcon, twice haha so we are starting to branch off and do some tracting in the more rural parts. It is a lot of fun but a good amount of walking between houses.

I also was able to speak in Church on Sunday. We got a text around 9:30 Saturday night asking if we would be able to speak the next day. So Elder Yesilonis and I spoke, and it actually went pretty well considering we didn't have much time to prepare!

Also some great news is that Elder Davis is going to the Tallahassee, Florida mission to finish off his 2 years! Anyways hope that everyone will have a wonderful week and keep the commandments!

Week 80: Service, Mini Missions and the Ups and Downs of Mission Life

February 20, 2018

This was another great week! We had a lot of great things happen this week and had a lot of fun! It snowed, we helped with a couple moves and then we got to help plan a mini mission activity for the young men in the ward.

We got to move in a couple from the neighboring ward who were taking lessons from the other Elders. It is a less active lady and her boyfriend and they were super cool! Then we helped another lady move out of the ward and it was lots of fun. Doing service makes the week go by quick!

It was really cool because we were able to talk with the young men's president about a mini mission activity. They are going to do a 5 week activity where the young men will be able to prepare for their mission and understand what it is. So we will be talking to them a lot about what you do on a mission and helping them to teach some of the lessons and they will come out with us and see how it goes!

Unfortunately still a lot of people are sick! Dinah has Bronchitis and we haven't been able to see her for a while but hopefully this week! And then another lady names Vera got the stomach flu! Vera is a referral from a lady in a neighboring ward and she came to church last week and is pretty excited about it all! Vera is from the Czech Republic. Also Hope decided that she wanted to stay with her old church, but she will come around someday!

Anyways things are going well and I am loving the work! Thanks to everyone for all the support and love!

Elder Morgan

Week 79: 18 Months!

February 12, 2018

Well this was a great week! We got some more snow and had some awesome lessons! I also hit my 18 month mark!

We started off the week with an awesome lesson with Dinah. She is so cool and prepared for the gospel! She had an amazing experience with the Book of Mormon. She said during our lesson that through the week she for some reason always felt like she needed to carry it in her purse where ever she went and that she didn't even get to read too much of it but that just having it close to her brought her comfort. She said that she was just about sleeping with it! Then we taught the Plan of Salvation and she started crying many times through the lesson and telling us how beautiful it was. To top it off she accepted a baptismal date of March 3rd! Definitely a lot of power in the book of Mormon because it testifies of Christ and of His doctrine.

Other than that we got some snow and were told we couldn't drive. It was really pretty outside! People keep telling us that there is a second winter here where it will snow a lot in March and April, so that will be fun!

Other than that things are going well and I am loving the work out here! hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Love,
Elder Morgan

Week 78: Flooding the Mission with the Book of Mormon

February 5, 2018

This was a great week! We did lots of tracting because everyone had been sick. We had exchanges and then interviews as well. This week went by really quick!

Knocking lots of doors was great, we met some cool people. We ended up handing out 13 copies of the Book of Mormon which was pretty great! We were trained by our mission president to flood the mission with the Book of Mormon and we are trying!

We had exchanges with the Black Forest ward Elders and Elder Kinney came to Falcon with Elder Yesilonis and I. Elder Kinney came out one transfer after me and I have served around him for a while so it was fun to be with him.

We had interviews with President Stevenson this week and that went really well. He asked how long I had left and told me I would have to start thinking about going home pretty soon and getting plans made and stuff. So that was crazy but he's just an awesome guy and I love him and Sister Stevenson, they are so cool!

We went to the painted mines again and that was pretty awesome. It is really pretty up there!

Other than that not too much else happened this week. Just doing my best! This is definitely the Lord's work and I love it! Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
