Week 16: Service, Funny Hats, and Goats

November 28, 2016

Man it was a good week! Crazy how fast everything is going by! We had a really fun and successful week and got to eat way too much food.

Thanksgiving was awesome! We went to 2 member's houses and they fed us so much! I think i gained like 8 pounds. We also got to watch a movie that morning and that was really nice, we watched Zootopia. The Jorden's sent us home with enough food to last through next week.

We have 2 people that are preparing for baptism right now, Hunter and Kyle. They are both so cool and really solid. Kyle is 25 and is married to a less active member that is coming back to church. He is set on being baptized and I love teaching him. Hunter Is an investigator we got from the sister missionaries and he is so solid. He is an "honest seeker of truth" and really loves to learn. I am so excited about them.

I think this Sunday was the best of my mission so far, we had 2 investigators there and 3 less active members! It is so cool seeing people come closer to Christ. it was so great this week because I had a lot of chances to exercise the Priesthood. We had a few investigators and members ask for blessings and it was really special to be able to serve them in that way.

One of my favorite parts about serving a mission is doing service in the community. We get many chances to serve the people in Canon City. We were able to paint a ladies porch who was going through a really hard time. her mother and son will passing away soon and after we painted her porch we were able to give her and her daughter a priesthood blessing that really helped them.

Elder Coverly is pretty hilarious, he wants to get a goat. He also found this Russian hat at the thrift store that he now wears around everywhere so that makes things interesting.

He also wants a goat...

Anyways I hope everyone is having happy holidays, love you all!
Love,
Elder Morgan
